Tertulia is an absolute gem! ! ✨
I found them to be the perfect intersection between coliving and permaculture, offering a truly unique and enriching experience. Francesco and Anja are incredible hosts – warm, welcoming, and genuinely dedicated to making everyone feel at home.
There's always something engaging happening here, not just on the farm itself, but throughout the entire Mugello area. They are beautifully connected to the local communities, which means you'll have ample opportunities to participate in various activities and experience authentic Tuscan life (Magnalonga was really fun!)
Beyond the atmosphere, the practicalities are also top-notch. The views are breathtaking, and the rooms are clean and cozy. Overall, I can't recommend Tertulia enough. It's a truly special place that combines community, sustainability, and genuine Italian hospitality.

- How do I do groceries?
- We plan at least two groceries moments in the week, according to needing and availability of cars from colivers, both for personal food both for shared dinners. Some planning is requested to have available on site all ingredients necessary for each gourmet menu!
- What are the coworking opening hours?
- The coworking is open 24/7
- What is the policy on pets? Are there any restrictions, fees or rules?
- If you are travelling with pets and you are thinking of staying in Tertulia with them, please let us know and we can discuss together about the opportunity. At Tertulia we have two dogs and three cats (as well as plenty of chickens and wild animals) living in harmony with each other. We ask the owners of pets to take the responsibility for maintaining this harmony by watching over their animals (we do not wish to lock or tie up our animals). We only have one rule that we ask you to respect: animals are not allowed inside the facility (rooms and common areas) to respect all guests. Our animals are always outside.
- How do I get there?
- We are 35 km from Florence, in Mugello. The nearest airports are Florence, Pisa and Bologna. Tertulia can be easily reached by car (the dirt road can be done with a normal car) or by train (but let us know that we will come to pick you up at the Vicchio station).
- What is included?
- Shared equipped kitchen, all communal spaces (coworking, living, multi-functional room), outdoor. In the rooms you find beddings (linen and towels). Oil, coffee, sugar, salt. Food is on your own. Soap, dishwasher soap and kitchen cleaning stuff.
- Why did you decide to open?
- Our big project is rural revival. We offer a community life experience in contact with the forest because we believe in the importance of a community life style and because plants are beneficial for your health and enhance your productivity as well. Once you are here you will meet local community as well and if you like the area and want to come back for a longer period we will help you to make the first steps and be always in touch.
- How do you manage the community?
- We don't manage the community as everyone is welcome to be part of the group and be natural. We just facilitate the weekly meeting and organize the everyday life in a way that everything goes smoothly.
