Welcome to franz&mathilde, a coliving and workation retreat, located in the very heart of the Italian alps, Südtirol. In the historic village of Tisens, next to apple fields, forests and mountains, a place was created that makes it possible to combine work and vacation. Surrounded by nature but not far from the cities of Merano, Bolzano and the Dolomites, franz&mathilde offers a quiet and relaxed workation atmosphere, for digital nomads, remote workers and all those who are looking for a little dolce vita.

About the owners
At the beginning of the 1960ies, Sarah’s grandparents, Franz & Mathilde, founded a small hotel in the village of Tesimo, South Tyrol. It was the time when guests booked a room by writing a letter. Everything worked a little bit more slowly, however, everything was a little bit more personal. They had guests from all over the world who shared their accomodation for almost 40 years. After years of success, the hotel was closed and remained so for 20 years.
We, Sarah and Philipp, opened the doors again with the vision to start the first coliving and workation retreat in South Tyrol, called franz&mathilde.
We want to create a place where like-minded people can exchange ideas, work and experience adventure. We believe in a fair and just working environment in which everyone should have the right to work as they do best.
Here at franz&mathilde, we aim to provide you with a quiet and private working environment. We are looking forward to welcoming you at our little house.
The Community at franz&mathilde
Coliving is all about community. Here is what you can look forward to infranz&mathilde: a lively, friendly atmosphere where you will meet people who love remote work and travel as much as you do. There are cozy common areas where you can hang out, work together, or just relax and chat.

- How do I do groceries?
- Directly in the village you will find a grocery store just 5 min away by foot.
- What are the coworking opening hours?
- Our Coworking is inhouse and 24/7 available for you.
- What is the policy on pets? Are there any restrictions, fees or rules?
- Please let us know first if you want to bring a pet. We will charge 10 € extra per night.
- How do I get there?
- It's easy to get to us by train and bus.
- What is included?
- Breakfast from Monday to Friday is included. Cleaning of the rooms once a week incl. sheets and towels. Coffee and tea in the community kitchen.
- How do you manage the community?
- We the Host are always onsite to manage our communtiy.
- Why did you decide to open?
- We are always looking forward to meet new people and show them surrounding.
