About ATLAS

WELCOME TO ATLAS — OUR POP-UP COLIVING 🏡 We are Atlas, a cultural and environmental association based in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. For more than 10 years, we’ve been developing projects around culture, territory, community, tourism and social innovation across the Canary Islands. And now, for a limited time, we’re opening the doors of our house in the city as an Atlas Pop-Up Coliving. This is not a traditional coliving. We’re not a coliving company — we’re Atlas, temporarily turning our home into a place where people can stay, work, meet others and, if they feel like it, become part of what’s happening around us. We work on cultural and social initiatives such as ContraMapas, a project that explores territories through walking, culture, music and local communities, alongside other projects connected to education, sustainability and social innovation. So depending on when you’re here, there might be a walk across the city, a cultural event, a concert, a workshop, a film screening or simply people gathering on the rooftop for a drink and a conversation. You’re welcome to participate — but there’s absolutely no obligation. You can also just make the house your base, work remotely from our coworking space & go to the beach and enjoy Las Palmas. THE HOUSE Our home is a restored traditional casa terrera in the heart of the city, just a 4-minute walk from the beach. It has: 9 private bedrooms 3 shared bathrooms + 1 guest toilet Fully equipped shared kitchen Dining and communal area Fast Wi-Fi A large rooftop terrace overlooking a city square Everything you need within walking distance The rooftop is one of our favourite parts of the house. Over the years, Atlas has always loved creating unexpected cultural spaces, so don't be surprised if the terrace occasionally becomes an open-air cinema, a tiny concert venue or simply the place where everyone ends up chatting. MORE THAN A PLACE TO SLEEP We like the idea of people coming to Gran Canaria not only as visitors, but having the opportunity to connect with the place and the people who live here. Artists, remote workers, students, cultural workers, social entrepreneurs, travellers, curious minds… everyone is welcome. Stay for a while. Work from here. Go surfing. Explore the island. Meet people. Join one of our projects if something catches your interest. Or simply enjoy having a home in Las Palmas.

About the owners

The hosts of this coliving
Meet your host — Manuel Cabezudo :))) Manuel is the founder and president of Atlas, a cultural and environmental association he started in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria back in 2015. With over 15 years of experience in tourism, communication and hostel/accommodation management, he's spent the last decade building projects that connect people to the island — from cultural walking routes across the Canary Islands to community-driven spaces like this one. He believes travel and hosting work best when they go beyond just a bed — creating real connections between guests, culture and place. Expect a warm welcome, good recommendations for exploring Gran Canaria, and probably an invitation to whatever Atlas has going on that week.

Frequently asked questions about ATLAS

Can’t find the answer you’re looking for? Just ask for it

How do I do groceries?
You'll find Hiperdino, a local supermarket, literally at the doorstep of the house — perfect for daily essentials, no need to go far. If you're after fresh produce, fish or a more local market experience, Mercado Central is just a 7-minute walk away, and it's one of the best spots in the city for fresh, local ingredients.
What are the coworking opening hours?
24/7 You'll have a key *
What is the policy on pets? Are there any restrictions, fees or rules?
No petsssss :)
How do I get there?
From Gran Canaria Airport (LPA), the house is about 25 km / 25-30 minutes away. GUAGUA (bus): the easiest and most affordable option. Buses 1, 5, 10, 11, 60 and 91 run from the airport straight to the city centre (around €2,30, journey ~40-50 min). From the Santa Catalina / San Telmo bus station, it's a short walk or local bus ride to the house. TAXI : faster if you'd rather skip the wait, around €30-50 and roughly 25-30 minutes door to door. RENTAL CAR : several agencies operate at the airport if you'd rather drive yourself — parking near the house is on-street. Once here, you're set: the house is centrally located, walkable to the beach (4 minutes), the local market (7 minutes) and most of what the city has to offer.
What is included?
Your private room Access to the fully equipped shared kitchen Dining and communal area Rooftop terrace Fast Wi-Fi One community dinner per week — a chance to cook, eat and connect with everyone staying in the house Optional access to Atlas activities and events — walks, cultural programming, workshops, and more, whenever you feel like joining Occasional cultural events on the rooftop (open-air cinema, concerts, and more, depending on the season) Central, walkable location — beach, market and city centre all nearby
Why did you decide to open?
¿ why not ?
How do you manage the community?
We have a volunteer living in the house who takes care of the main things — basic cleaning of common areas and keeping the house running smoothly day to day. Beyond that, we trust everyone staying here to be a responsible adult. This isn't a hostel with strict rules or someone checking up on you — it's a shared home, and we expect people to treat it, and each other, that way.
