Old traditional Japanese house converted into a coworking.
We have two apartments 3min walk from the coworking.

Pros:
- Amazing host, Kazuma, the heart of the house.
- Astonishing coworking, never worked in a place with some much history.
- Located in the local suburbs, so you will local experience.
- Colivers and Kazu organised a lot of activities (day trips, dinners, karaoke, cooking nights)
- Good price.
Cons:
- Location is too far from metro or bus (12-15min walking) and far from the center of Kyoto(40min by metro).
- Coworking has limited times (9-17) and you need to book in advance (never seen a coliving like this). Don't expect ergonomic chairs or desks, it is a traditional house so small chairs and tables to work in.
- The coliving is two apartments, but there's no cleaning service. So I would say it is more like a student-shared flat.
- The coliving only proposed two events (an open doors day so tourists could see the historical building) and a traditional rice cooking experience (which was good but explanations were made mostly in Japanese).
In general, I would say it is good to stay here if you want a local experience, know Japanese, and want to be inspired by a beautiful work with an incredible garden and tons of history. If you are used to European coliving you will probably be disappointed.
The place has tons of potential if the owners (not Kazu) worked more on it and knew more English.

The good things:
- The coworking space is beautiful and peaceful
- The Taikoukyo colivers were friendly and we made tons of plans
- @kazuma was an amazing host, he was the best thing in the coliving. I can't imagine Taikoukyo without him.
The bad things:
- The coworking is not 24h, only from 9am to 5pm.
- The coliving is more like a shared flat.
- The coliving owners proposed only 1 event in 2 months. So not that many events, however, we did tons of plans with @kazuma and the other colivers.
- the place is far from the city centre and tourist locations
In overall I would say that if you want to stay long term in Kyoto and need a comunity this place can help you achieve that. If you want to stay for a short time and just see the main atractions I would rather book accommodation in the city centre.
In my opinion this place has a huge potential to be an awesome coliving, but the owners (not @kazuma) don't care that much about it and put almost no effort in taking care of the people which is kinda the main point of a coliving, taking care of the community.
