About the owners
- Toshi: Toshi explores the intersection of cutting-edge technology and ancient wisdom. He has established a business specializing in integrating natural materials into modern renovations, proving that heritage techniques can solve contemporary living challenges.
- Megu: Megu is training in Esalen massage and Reiki healing, deepening my interest in holistic well-being and the connection between body and mind.
Recently, I have been especially fascinated by traditional Japanese vegan cuisine, exploring its philosophy and beauty. In my daily life, nothing makes me happier than watching my three cats at home—they bring me a sense of peace and joy. Two years ago, I was deeply moved by the nature and the people here, which inspired me to move and start a new chapter of my life.

- How do I do groceries?
- Groceries: We recommend buying groceries at the "Grand Mart" supermarket near Tazawako Station before heading up to the highlands, as shops are limited in the upper area. Supermarket is 15min by car or public transportation. You can go there with community members. •
- What are the coworking opening hours?
- It depends on the guest, yet we are trying to be open 24/7 for international working time.
- What is the policy on pets? Are there any restrictions, fees or rules?
- Pets are not allowed to be brought into the property. Please note that there are three resident cats at the coliving space, although they may not always be inside the property. The cats are free to go outside on their own and may sometimes be found in the living room, hallways, or other common areas. If you prefer not to have cats enter your room, please keep your room door closed when you are not using it.
- How do I get there?
- 🚄 Option 1: Shinkansen (bullet train) & Bus The most convenient and fastest way. 1. **Tokyo Station → Tazawako Station** ◦ Take the **Akita Shinkansen "Komachi"**. ◦ Duration: Approx. 3 hours. (Japan Rail Pass is accepted) 2. **Tazawako Station → Tazawako Co-living** ◦ Take the **Ugo Kotsu Bus** (Nyuto Onsen Line or Komagatake Line) from the bus stop in front of the station. ◦ Duration: Approx. 30 minutes. ◦ Disembark at **"Komagatake Resort-mae"** or **"Alpa Komakusa"**. 🚗 Option 2: Shinkansen (bullet train) & Rental Car A convenient option if you prefer to drive. Tokyo Station → Tazawako Station or Morioka Station ◦ Take the Akita Shinkansen "Komachi". ◦ Duration: Approx. 3 hours to Tazawako Station or approx. 2 hours 15 minutes to Morioka Station. ◦ (Japan Rail Pass is accepted) Tazawako Station → Tazawako Co-living ◦ Rent a car from a rental car company near the station. ◦ Duration: Approx. 15 minutes by car. Morioka Station → Tazawako Co-living ◦ Rent a car from a rental car company near the station. ◦ Duration: Approx. 1 hour by car. ◦ Morioka is the nearest major city to Tazawako Co-living. Rental car companies are available near both Tazawako Station and Morioka Station. Overnight buses are available from various cities to Morioka. From Morioka, it is approximately a one-hour drive to Tazawako coliving.

Choose from our Double/Twin Rooms (5 units), ideal for couples or those seeking a spacious work-from-room setup, or our **Single Room (1 unit) -Facilities: Shared bathroom, Our shared spaces , spacious lounge for cultural exchange, and fully equipped laundry facilities are available for all residents.
- Why did you decide to open?
- We are interested in regenerative society... We want to revitalize the abandoned Onsen hostel with natural materials. Also we want to open the wonderful Japan rural life to the world.
- How do you manage the community?
- We, Toshi and Megu, and other 1 community members who can speak English are living together.
