We are looking for someone passionate about connecting people, strengthening relationships, and creating meaningful experiences within our community. As a Community Manager, you will be the central point of contact between the brand and the community — responsible for caring for people, fostering engagement, and turning our values into everyday lived experiences.
samesame is more than a coliving space. We are a home, a network of care, a place where people, cultures, and ways of living come together. Responsibilities
As samesame’s Community Manager, you will be the guardian of the community experience. Your mission is to cultivate meaningful connections, foster an environment of trust and well-being, and ensure that every person who comes through the house feels welcomed and part of something bigger.
Welcome residents and visitors: provide a warm reception at check-in, help them integrate into the house, and actively listen to their needs and expectations.
Lead the volunteers: coordinate volunteer roles, tasks, and schedules, being responsible for the performance and development of this team, and stepping in when necessary (for days off, illness, or other situations).
Keep the house culture alive: ensure that samesame’s principles (care, presence, collectivity, autonomy, responsibility) are truly lived in everyday life.
Manage internal communication: oversee communication channels (WhatsApp and Trello) and share important information with clarity and empathy, such as check-in and check-out guides, activity plans, partnerships, etc.
Coordinate weekly rituals and activities: create and execute the weekly plan including themed conversation circles, community dinners/brunches, game or movie nights, day trips, surf/paddle/yoga classes, Portuguese night, hiking/climbing, exploring parks/museums/city centers, spontaneous gatherings, among others.
Take the pulse of the community: identify tensions, facilitate difficult conversations when needed, collect, analyze, and share feedback with the team, suggest improvements, and celebrate what is working well.
Produce meaningful content for the brand: create authentic content in partnership with Marketing that represents the voice of the community, acting as the bridge between members and the brand to ensure communication remains fluid and human.
Connect with the local environment: build relationships with the neighborhood and aligned initiatives, seeking local partnerships that enhance the community’s experience in Lisbon.
Requirements
Required:
Experience in hospitality, group facilitation, or community-based projects.
Strong communication skills, listening ability, empathy, and genuine presence to interact with different personalities.
Organization, autonomy, and proactivity in daily work.
Intermediate or advanced English.
Alignment with samesame’s values (respect, care, simplicity, fairness).
Nice to have:
Experience with coliving spaces, hostels, collectives, or community networks.
Basic knowledge of tools such as Canva, Trello, and Google Drive.
Experience living in shared or alternative living environments.
Basic spoken and understood Portuguese.

Accommodation in a private studio within samesame, with bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen (with the possibility of sharing with another team member for a few days per week).
Studio cleaning and linen/towel changes.
Additional monthly payment of €300.
