A modern, high-end 3-floored Coliving Villa in central Funchal, designed for remote workers who want focus, comfort, and a homey vibe (not a hostel). Every room has a proper work setup (desk, ergonomic chair, monitor, plugs) with fast fibre internet (mesh Wi-Fi + LAN), plus warm cosy interiors (large living and dining room), double-glazed windows, spacious walk-in shower bathrooms, and an extremely well-equipped kitchen. Located on a peaceful residential lane, yet you’re ~15 minutes on foot to the sea and old town. Equipped with terraces, garden, and a mature, respectful community that values both privacy and shared moments.
About the owners
Hey! We’re Nina & Kurt 😊 Kurt is the owner of Luzia House, and I’m the host and coliving manager. I’m a passionate traveler who lives mostly in Madeira, obsessed with hiking, yoga, and finding new hidden spots on the island. I’m also known for being very tidy and detail-oriented - which is probably why our guests often describe the house as exceptionally well-kept and thoughtfully set up.
We created The Luzia House because we love beautiful homes and the magic that happens when the right people share one. During Jan–Jun we host a calm, high-quality coliving community of remote workers who value focus, respect shared spaces, and enjoy a balanced lifestyle.

- How do I do groceries?
- There is a small supermarket 5 min walk from the house. You also find a large shopping centre and some big supermarket chains by walking about 15 min.
- What are the coworking opening hours?
- It's always open, though we like to do yoga in the morning nearby the Coworking area from 7-8:30am. There is plenty of space to work inside your room, too.
- What is the policy on pets? Are there any restrictions, fees or rules?
- Unfortunately pets are not permitted.
- How do I get there?
- You can take the airport bus, then walk uphill or take another bus. Or even easier, a fast bolt (about 20 min drive) directly to the house :)
- What is included?
- A high-end well equipped room in a spacious house, bathroom shared with max. 1 more room, amazing carefully selected people, a wonderful garden and terrace to work, eat, chill, hang-out, access to an exclusive digital nomad community and much more :)
- Why did you decide to open?
- I opened it because I enjoy turning houses into places people genuinely love living in. Coliving is special to me because it creates community naturally, new friendships, shared routines, and a home base where people can focus, recharge, and flourish.
- How do you manage the community?
- I run the community through a well-established system that makes the whole coliving journey smooth and predictable for everyone. When I’m on the island, I usually live in the house and stay close to day-to-day dynamics. When I’m away, I work closely with our cleaning team and an occasional assistant to keep everything running consistently.
