stayed at Alt Ping River for a full month and was initially drawn in by its branding around community, integrity, and connection. Unfortunately, beneath the aesthetic, this place operates like any other profit driven business with curated language masking a lack of true accountability.
I was given a verbal agreement by the staff that if I extended my stay beyond one month, a long-term discount would be retroactively applied. I confirmed this arrangement three separate times in person, in alignment with what’s listed on their website. When the time came to finalize the extension, the owner, John, ignored my messages for two full days, only to finally respond with deflection, delay, and business speak claiming he needed to check the “fine print” and consult the website.
I gave him the opportunity to make things right. He had multiple chances to simply say, “Of course, we’ll honor our word.” Instead, I was met with more vague language, excuses about new staff and policies, and no ownership of the commitment that had clearly been made. This wasn’t just poor communication - it was a failure of integrity.
If you're seeking real community, be aware that what’s advertised here doesn’t match what’s delivered. Words like “family” and “community-first” are used liberally, but in practice, this space is about extracting maximum profit. There’s no elder presence, no grounded leadership - just avoidance behind polished words.
I’m sharing this review not out of spite, but from a commitment to truth. Others deserve to know what they’re walking into. A place that claims to offer "family" and "community" must be willing to live that value when it counts.

- How do I do groceries?
- There are several grocery stores and supermarket at motorbike distance or walking. You can also order food to the coworking.
- What are the coworking opening hours?
- The Coworking Space is accessible 24/7 for Residents and Coworking Package Members. Those holding Day/Week passes can access the space from 9am - 6pm, Monday to Saturday.
- What is the policy on pets? Are there any restrictions, fees or rules?
- As much as we love our furry friends, we do need to keep other members allergies/phobias into consideration, as well as the cleanliness of the space. Therefore we do not allow pets in the Coliving or Coworking areas.
- How do I get there?
- 10 mins by car from Chiang Mai Airport. You can get a taxi or a Grab for around 4 euros.
- What is included?
