How Mapmelon payments work (deposit + remaining balance)

When a coliver books through Mapmelon, there are two separate payments:

1) The “Deposit” you see is the Mapmelon Fee (10%)

At checkout, Mapmelon charges a booking fee equal to 10% of the total booking amount (the “Mapmelon Fee”).

• This is what appears as the deposit.
• It is paid to Mapmelon.
• It is kept by Mapmelon as the platform fee.

2) The remaining balance is paid to the coliving

After the booking is confirmed, the coliving collects the rest of the payment directly from the guest.

The coliving decides how and when to charge it, for example:

• on arrival
• before arrival
• in installments
• any other method the coliving prefers

Mapmelon does not collect the remaining balance.

Cancellations

Guest cancellations

Guests can cancel their booking from the booking page, based on the cancellation policy chosen by the coliving.
