This is a Long Term Volunteering Position:
We are the first rural coliving space in Barcelona, Catalunya (Spain). Founded in 2019.
We are among the top 5 projects in Spain (out of more than 4,000) with the highest ratings on Workaway as a host for a volunteering experience.
What we are looking for:
A handyman to perform maintenance tasks in the rural coliving (a farmhouse). They will be part of the long-term family (15 people in total).
Job Description:
- Experience: at least 5 years working in construction, woodwork, plumbing, electricity, gardening, painting…
- Part-time: 20 flexible hours during the week.
- Location: rural Barcelona (40 minutes away)
- Languages: at least intermediate in English and/or Spanish.
- Start Date: August or September 2024
- Minimum stay: 6 months commitment, ideally 1 year.

- Between 30 and 45 years old.

Who we are:
Kalart is a rural coliving space that combines three unique factors of our project:
- Nature + City: The coliving is located within a Natural Park and Biosphere Reserve (UNESCO), in the "Montseny Valley" (with a peak of 1800m) and at the same time is 40 minutes from Barcelona and 20 minutes from the beach.
- Long Coliving + Trustful Community: 40% of the colivers stay from 1 to 6 months, 60% stay for 1 year. We are interested in establishing deep ties, we do not host for days or weeks. 30% stay to live in the valley after their time at Kalart, creating an extended family.
- ChangeMakers + Wellbeing: We mainly host professionals from the creative and cultural industries, usually people who are looking to find a balance between personal and professional life. They want to start living with more purpose, greater impact, and personal and social coherence.
