About Backyard Ventures
Welcome to our haven in Arusha, Tanzania, where sustainable living meets community warmth. Tucked away in the heart of nature, our fully solar-powered home is not just an accommodation; it's a family home dedicated to fostering a sustainable and eco-friendly lifestyle.
As the sun rises over our green oasis, mornings at our co-living space begin with a nutritional spread featuring homegrown and locally sourced seasonal fruits and veggies, complemented by freshly made pastries crafted by our sweet chef, Amina. Fuel your day with the option of freshly brewed coffee or spiced masala chai.
Our cozy rooms, each equipped with a double bed, desk, and ample closet space, provide a comfortable retreat for up to 8 people at a time on a shared basis. We encourage stays of at least two weeks, inviting you to become part of our community rather than temporary guests.
Living here means being part of a community. We're not just individuals temporarily sharing a space but a community that comes together to cook meals, embark on adventures, dive into good reads, exchange resources, explore new places, and share valuable insights. It's a tapestry of cultures and traditions, where co-working on projects is as common as sharing personal stories by the fire.

- We do weekly grocery runs together or you can visit the nearby square for your own shopping. Groceries can also be directly delivered to the house.
- What are the coworking opening hours?
- We aren't a coworking space but you have the luxury to work form your personal desk in your room or in the common spaces in the house.
- What is the policy on pets? Are there any restrictions, fees or rules?
- There is an additional charge of $175 per month for pets and the maximum is 2 pets per person.
- How do I get there?

- Why did you decide to open?
- To give travelers an opportunity to immerse themselves in the richness of my country. To have a place to call home during their slow travels with intentional activities curated focused on discovering Tanzania with likeminded individuals.
- How do you manage the community?
- In order to join our space, we schedule an introductory call with a few prelimanary questions to understand if we are a good fit for those interested in coming to our space. We organize events and excursions for our guests to ensure they are getting the full experience of what Tanzania has to offer based on their interests. We also organize community activities to allow for connection and networking amongst each other. With our house rules in place, this helps maintain a certain ethos within the space to make sure everyone feels comfortable and respected while staying withus.
