Last Friday, we threw a Mapmelon Party 🍉 to celebrate our first year, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish!
It all began when @pearl, during a dinner at ,, suggested we celebrate the anniversary (we hadn't even thought about it!).
We quickly discussed with @johnmho from Alt about hosting it there. He was incredibly supportive and suggested adding some engaging content to make it more than just a party. With the schedule set, the preparations began. We went on a motorbike ride to Makro for plates, cutlery, and quiz prizes, and then scoured stationery shops for balloons and decorations.
@sole designed a cute poster while @reymon359 organized the quiz. We distributed the posters to all the coworking spaces and colivings in Chiang Mai (there are about 8 approx). Another day was dedicated to printing stickers, shirts, tote bags, and more posters.
As the event drew closer, we were a bit nervous about the sign-up numbers, so after a brainstorming session at the Alt family meeting, we shortened the schedule and updated the posters.
We also prepared our talk, "How to Maximize Your Coliving Experience", based on @sunshine's post on the Mapmelon Blog.
The big day arrived, and everything fell perfectly into place! The event was even more successful than we imagined, with many joining and engaging in lively discussions about coliving. Topics ranged from coliving in Bali to personal experiences, to whether coworking or coliving should come first.
It was an inspiring evening that deepened our connection with the coliving community. We enjoyed a great dinner, some beers, and had a blast with the quiz!
Thank you for the support, for everyone joining, for the space in Alt Coliving, and for all the ideas and help from the community, we couldn't make it without you 🥰
Can't wait to start planning the next event 😉
