Hey everyone, I’m Marie!
Filipina, who’s been nomading in Europe and America for the past 7 years.
Some of you might already have been to my home country, and you would know that it’s natural beauty, hospitality, and friendliness is next to none! And we are so so proud of being visited by several people year on year.
What you may not have known is that the resentment towards foreigners (both nomads and tourists) is slowly starting to grow - similar to that of Lisbon, Bulgaria, and the likes.
A lot of it has to do with cultural inappropriation (ie: people being half naked in our islands, despite our conservative culture), overstaying visas, and generally a lack of education and opportunity to integrate with the locals.
This is why I started Kaya Connections - a series of nomad retreats led by experienced nomads who are actually from that country who are passionate to show open minded people around the destinations, while pursuing personal development.
We’ve already done three coliving retreats in the past years, with some people even going back a second time.
