Welcome to Hub Feenix! A vibrant co-living and co-working community tucked into the serene forests of southern Finland, just an hour from Helsinki. Set in a beautifully restored historic sanatorium across a sprawling 15,000m² campus, digital nomads will find their ideal workspace at Hub Feenix’s dedicated co-working area in their wing. The space provides 24/7 access to a fully equipped work environment with fast WiFi (200 Mbps). Beyond the primary co-working space, nomads can tap into additional coworking spaces and nooks throughout the building, shared with the wider community. The space offers multiple work zones, including in-room desks, a breakout meeting room, and private offices available at an additional cost. The on-site makerspace provides further creative opportunities with tools for traditional crafts (metalwork, woodwork, ceramics), 3D printing, and electronics. It’s perfect for professionals seeking inspiration and innovation.
Hub Feenix features a dedicated living wing for digital nomads, with private rooms on the second floor, fresh linens and essential amenities. Guests share clean, gender-separated bathrooms with two showers each. The fully equipped shared kitchen supports vegetarian cooking and reflects the property’s sustainability values. Comfortable lounges with sofas and TVs foster community, while digital nomads can also enjoy communal spaces throughout the building to connect with artists, volunteers, long-term residents and the Hub Feenix team.
Wellness and recreation are central to life here. Explore protected forests, swim in a nearby lake, climb indoors, hit the gym, watch a film in our movie room, have a jam session in our music room or unwind in our weekly wood-fired sauna. A shared car is available for nearby adventures, and our on-site healing salon offers services like osteopathy, acupuncture, and massages.
Sustainability is woven into daily life. We recycle, compost, and upcycle to reduce waste, and we’re working toward powering the property with solar and geothermal energy, so you can work, create, and recharge while treading lightly on the land. there To support energy-conscious living, heating is provided and billed separately based on individual usage.
Hub Feenix is more than a place to stay. It’s a living ecosystem, a vibrant village where creativity and connection thrive with about 40-50 residents. Every month, we host artists from around the world through our residency program, bringing new energy and opportunities for collaboration. A lively volunteer crew keeps the space running. And our full-time residents and Hub Feenix staff steward the building and shape the culture of the Hub Feenix. Shared spaces like the coworking hub, makerspace, outdoor sports fields, communal kitchens, and our on-site café (open for special occasions) naturally bring together digital nomads, artists, and volunteers for shared experiences.

About the owners
When Raisa Kaipainen and Torsten Ruger first stumbled across the old Meltola sanatorium, they didn’t just see cracked tiles and faded walls - they saw potential. After a whirlwind decision and winning the property at auction on April Fools' Day 2020 (no joke, and only three days after discovering it!), they set out to transform it into something extraordinary.
Hub Feenix was born from their dream to create a vibrant, inspiring community where people from around the world could come together to live, work, create, and grow. The campus now hosts 6 event spaces, 100 beds, a thriving international artist residency, a lively volunteer community, and a newly launched digital nomads program.
Their mission? To provide not just a place to stay, but a home where creativity, collaboration, and well-being thrive. A place that, thanks to a lot of heart (and many, many renovation projects), countless guests now simply call "home."

- How do I do groceries?
- You can get groceries by bike, bus, or shared car to the nearest town, just a 10-minute ride away, where you'll find supermarkets and local stores with everything you need. The bus stop is approximately a 5-minute walk from the property.
- What are the coworking opening hours?
- The coworking space is accessible at all hours - 24/7.
- What is the policy on pets? Are there any restrictions, fees or rules?
- We love furry ones, but unfortunately they are not allowed onsite as our space is geared towards productivity. Additionally, to maintain the community atmosphere at Hub Feenix, we have a few important guidelines: - No drugs or excessive alcohol consumption on the premises. - No meat or fish is allowed on-site, as we maintain a fully vegetarian environment.
- How do I get there?
- Hub Feenix is located in Meltola, just an hour from Helsinki, and is easily accessible by train, bus, or car. By Train: The nearest station is Karjaa (Karis), about 1 hour from Helsinki or Turku. Trains run frequently, and tickets can be purchased online or at the station. If needed, we can arrange a pickup from Karjaa station—just let us know in advance. By Bus: Buses also run between Helsinki and Karjaa, and the nearest bus stop is very close to Hub Feenix, making public transport an easy option. By Car: If you're driving, we're located at Högbenintie 30, 10350 Meltola. There is free parking available on-site. By Plane: If you're arriving at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, you can take a direct train to Karjaa with a quick transfer at Pasila station. By Ferry: If traveling from Tallinn, Stockholm, or Germany, ferries arrive in Helsinki or Turku, from where you can take a train to Karjaa.
