Casa Capitán: four new rooms and a rooftop for a winter in Tenerife

by | Nov 6, 2026 | Coliving Lifestyle, Colivings in Europe

Four new rooms, a rooftop and a winter of sun in the south of Tenerife.

Casa Capitán Coliving is a house in Guargacho, in the south of Tenerife, less than 3 km from the nearest beach. It is run by Alina and Ionel, a couple with a background in hospitality and a soft spot for an active life. In their words, what started as a simple house has grown into a coliving shaped by the nomads who stayed there.

This autumn the house grew again. The top floor is open, there are four new rooms, and most of the outdoor space has been rebuilt for the winter season.

What is new this winter

  • Three new rooms: a single room with a double bed, a bunk bed room for one person, and a shared room for women only.
  • A private rooftop studio, with its own bathroom, its own kitchen and its own terrace, for when you want a door that closes on your own space.
  • The BBQ area, now officially open, for shared dinners that go on late.
  • A big rooftop with room for yoga and a calisthenics area.
  • A relaxation terrace with hammocks, to sunbathe, read or do nothing at all.
  • A dedicated coworking space for remote workers and freelancers.
  • A movie-night corner with a big screen, for the evenings you stay in.

Working from the house

The coworking room sits outside the main house but on the same property, so you can work there at any hour without waking anyone. It is a bright glass room with proper desks and chairs, and the connection is listed at 1000 Mbps. Every bedroom also has a desk and a chair, so a call can happen in your room too.

Living there

Alina and Ionel run the community between them. Ionel is mostly around in the mornings at breakfast, Alina in the afternoons, and one of them is always there for the family dinners and the activities.

The coworking room, the rooftop terrace, the BBQ, the indoor and outdoor kitchens, and coffee and tea are all included in the price. There is a supermarket three minutes away and a 24-hour shop a minute’s walk from the door.

The rooms

There is a room for most budgets, from a bed in a shared room to the studio on the roof:

  • Shared rooms for two, one for women and one for men, with a shared bathroom.
  • A bunk bed room for one person, which can take a second guest on request.
  • Single rooms with a shared bathroom, one of them with a double bed.
  • A single room and a double room with their own bathroom and their own entrance from the terrace.
  • The private rooftop studio, with a bathroom, a kitchen and a terrace of its own.

Prices start at 42 EUR a night and the minimum stay is five nights. Current prices and free dates are on the Casa Capitán page on Mapmelon.

Getting there

Casa Capitán is close to Tenerife South airport. Bus 415 goes straight to the village in about 10 to 15 minutes, and the stop is a minute from the house. A taxi works too.

Who it suits

  • Remote workers and freelancers who want a real desk and people around them at dinner.
  • Anyone escaping a northern winter who wants sun without a resort.
  • People who like to start the day with yoga or a workout on the roof.
  • Those who want community but also a space of their own: that is what the rooftop studio is for.

One thing to know before you book: the house does not take pets, because of guests with allergies.

You can follow the house on Instagram at @casacapitantenerife.
